A Little Thing Called the World Series

You might of heard about it. The St. Louis Cardinals won! And the city went bananas.

We watched every televised game of the post-season, and were lucky enough to get tickets to one home game in each post-season series.

That included Game 6 of the World Series. The Arch looked particularly pretty that night.

It took eleven innings and a few heart-stopping moments, but we won in the end.

The Rally Squirrel came through for the Cardinals in Game 6. I assume the squirrel wouldn’t have bothered, except he saw this woman’s sign and decided he’d better take advantage of the unusually positive publicity. The Rally Squirrel wanted to make the most of his 15 minutes of fame.

We didn’t have tickets for Game 7, but were able to get outside the ballpark in time to see the celebratory fireworks.

The ballpark gates were opened after the game so we went in to get a peek at the trophy ceremony. Unfortunately, a peek is really all we could get.

So we went back outside to enjoy the overflowing happiness with other fans. People were grabbing their Cardinals paraphernalia and parading it in the streets…including this woman, who waved a Cardinals desk lamp out the window of  her limo. Hilarious!

I hope you have all had a safe and happy Thanksgiving weekend. The house got a deep cleaning in preparation for our houseguests, so for the next post I plan on snapping and sharing a few photos.

It will be good to do a current-state analysis of the house, don’t you think? It will be fun to go through each room and write up what has been changed and what is still in the plans. Which room should we start with? If you have an opinion, leave a comment and let me know!
